On my way home I had a craving for some good 'ol Texas style BBQ. I googled 'BBQ restaurants near me' and this came as a top contender. I read the reviews and off to Matt's BBQ I went! As a self-proclaimed BBQ Pit Queen Master, Boy oh BOY!!! This BBQ joint did NOT! disappoint! I have found a local gem and I will be returning here very soon. I ordered: brisket, pulled chicken, sausage, mac & cheese and potato salad. It was ALL phenomenal!!!

You smell the barbecue smoke before you even see the place and your mouth is watering. We’ve had pulled pork from a lot of different places all over the country and Matt’s is at the top of the heap. Melts in your mouth with a rich, smooth smoky finish. Their homemade house sauce is perfect in that it compliments the meat flavor without overwhelming it. Attentive, patient and friendly servers. If you’re looking for some good Q, this is your place.
Just amazing smash burger is my life. I have never found a more perfect bbq place they have everything you want from amazing desserts to delicious smash burgers and there bbq is amazing as welll
If you are a fan of good texas bbq this is your spot. I can not recommend the brisket here enough. It is the best you are going to get in the midwest. The atomosphere is nice and small and you can tell thet the pitmasters love their work and it comes off in the smoky flavor and tenderness of the brisket. As all good Texas BBQ, no dauces are needed but all three sauces on the table are a great addition to whatever meat you decide to choose. Next visit will be on a Sunday as that is the only day to get a beef dino rib.
Shoot dang this place has best BBQ east of da Mississippi!!! Also Jenna is the sweetest thing, & she will not only take care of you, she'll kill that hangover as well!!
Matt's Barbecue, as a life long culinarian, I can say without a doubt some of the BEST BBQ I’ve ever had. Meticulously executed with heart and passion. The ribs were perfectly tender! You could taste the cracked peppercorn on the burnt ends, perfect explosion of flavor! Even the smash burger impressed. The team in there is funny(as I definitely made a “dad” comment to the server who gave me the perfect response, lmao) as well as attentive. Keep it up!! You are officially the one thing I miss about living in the Chicagoland area!
Best bbq in the suburbs and no one comes close. The ribs are amazing fall off the bone tender. For anyone who loves brisket it’s also spot on. The pecan pie was the best thing on the whole menu it’s to die for. This place is a must go for anyone who loves bbq it’s hard to find better than this in Illinois.
